Surviving Winter Until Comic-Con: The Cruise
December 3, 2025

Winter has always been marked with pop culture moments and traditions for me. Every year, I watch Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan on Halloween eve (I mean weren’t Chekov and Terrell basically trick-or-treating at Khan’s house on Seti Alpha V?), A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving Eve, and The Macy’s parade on Thanksgiving Day, A Charlie Brown Christmas on Christmas Eve, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring on Christmas Day, The Two Towers on December 27th, and then in between the Twilight Zone marathon, half of The Return of the King on New Year’s Eve and the second half on New Year’s Day.
To say nothing of the annual daily posting of my Star Wars-themed HAN-ukkah menorah and the cold and snow that gives me an excuse to stay home and watch (or rewatch) shows, movies, read (or reread) books, and the time to try to get passed level 1 on a video game, through St. Patrick’s Day.
What can I say, I’m a nerd.
But as wonderful as the season is, the whole cold and gets-dark-early thing can be a bit… much after a while. That’s one of the reasons why Comic-Con: The Cruise makes sense.
It’s the perfect gift to give and get for the holidays. Listen, I love getting and buying stuff as much as anyone, but there’s nothing quite like an actual IRL experience that’ll give you, your family, and friends a ton of memories that last forever.
It’s the pinnacle of pop culture fun. Where and when else can you enjoy a piña colada by the pool debating if Die Hard or Batman Returns is the better Christmas movie?
It’ll remind your t-shirts that you still love them. Admit it: you miss wearing all the pop culture-themed shirts you put away for the season. So, break them out of storage and wear them with geeky pride as you play Magic: The Gathering with friends new and old!
It’s something to look forward to. There’s no other way to beat the post-holiday blues than having something exciting waiting for you on the horizon—namely watching an ocean horizon sunset!
It’ll get you out of the cold and dark house and into the warm bright weather of the Caribbean. I mean, I love hibernating, but even I understand that a little Vitamin D is good for you!
Experience the adventure and lock in your cabin!
