The Colossal Cosplay Contest is your chance to show off how much hard work you have put into building your costume. Our professional judges will look at how well your costume is constructed, how it fits, and how clean and finished the details are. They’ll also consider how complex your design is, how creatively you approached the build, and how clearly you can explain the techniques you used. If you’re using a character or design as a reference, accuracy to that source will also be part of your score. A reference photo is required, however multiple progress photos and/or a ‘build book’ are not required.
Because this is a craftsmanship-focused contest, at least 70% of your costume must be hand-made by you. This means you should be personally responsible for creating most of the key components—such as sewing garments, building armor, styling wigs, or making props. It’s fine to use some pre-made elements such as shoes, a base wig or leotard, but the majority of the costume should reflect your own effort and skills.
If you meet these criteria and would like to enter the Colossal Cosplay Contest, you may do so by signing up at the ECP Guest Service Desk onboard the Celebrity Constellation upon embarkation starting at 11:00 AM on January 30 until January 31 at 5:00 PM.
The Colossal Cosplay Contest prejudging will be held on February 1st from 8:00 PM, – 9:30 PM in the News-talgia Lounge on deck 4 with our Cosplay professionals, Yaya Han, Cowbutt Crunchies, and CutiePieSensei, with the Colossal Cosplay Contest Finals taking place at 10:45 PM that same evening at the pool stage during our Colossal Cosplay Party!
