You’re a veteran of Star Trek: The Cruise sailings, what are you most looking forward to on Comic-Con: The Cruise Vol. 02?
Other than spending time with some old friends, like Felicia Day, Jason Isaacs, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd, I love sailing through the tropical Bahamas! I also love all the interactive activities and shows I can participate in and the quality time I can have with fans, celebrating our family geekdom, that goes beyond a fast paced convention appearance.
Do you think your time as Captain Saru in Star Trek: Discovery has prepared you for commanding the Celebrity Constellation during Comic-Con: The Cruise?
Oh dear. I feel pretty confident commanding a fictitious starship, but we shouldn’t trust me with a gorgeous vessel like the Celebrity Constellation. I’m happy to let the very experienced captain of that ship keep doing his thing without my goofy input.
Any advice for first-time cruisers?
Yes, I would encourage everyone to take advantage of all the onboard entertainment and games, and to fully commit to mingling with new people you already have so much in common with! Lifelong friendships have grown out of cruises just like this!

Oh if you give me some classic 1970’s disco, I dare you to try keeping me off the dance floor!
Comic-Con: The Cruise is a dream adventure for fans. What are you most looking forward to experiencing with guests?
Aside from special stage time, my favorite thing to do on these cruises is stroll the public decks for random, unscheduled, unexpected interactions with the fan family. And remember, the Doug Hugs are always free!
