What are you most looking forward to on Comic-Con: The Cruise?

Well, first of all, this trip combines 2 of my favorite things to do: cruising and fan conventions. I’ve been on dozens of cruises, both for enjoyment as well as work, as I’ve taught a few animation voiceover workshops on cruises. A big ship of celebs and fans on the high seas? It doesn’t get more fun than that!

Is there anyone in particular that you are looking forward to meeting onboard Comic-Con: The Cruise?

Ya know, I’ve been fortunate to have been able to do voices for cartoons for over 40 years. But I will always also be a fan boy! Of course I want to meet George Takei! Gotta get a picture with Sulu and Porky Pig. Plus, it’s all about the fans! Without them, none of us would have a career.

What can guests expect from your voice acting workshop?

All characters have a voice, but not all voices have character. In this workshop, I will guide students on bringing layers of nuance, and specifics in acting choices, taking participants from just reading in a funny voice to performing solid and memorable characters. I’ll also answer questions about the business of the business.

You’ve been the voice of Porky Pig for years—what would he say about meeting his fans on Comic-Con: The Cruise?

He would say, “I’m eh-luh-leh-eh-looking forward to meeting my fans and everyone who loves the Looney eh-tuh-teh-eh-Looney-eh-tuh-teh-eh-Warner Brothers cartoons!”

If you could voice any animated character, who would it be and why?

Well, my favorite is the pig. I wanted to voice Porky since I was 5. But the really fun part of my job is I never know what I am going to be asked to voice from one day to the next. It never gets boring!
